Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM) (founded 1982) is an autonomous, public institute of sectoral management located in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India, established by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India with financial assistance from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and course assistance from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. As a campus IIFM is famous for its rich flora and fauna with sightings of various wild mammals and birds within the campus which is of approx 217 acres.
IIFM Landscape
IIFM is on top of a hillock and is surrounded by water bodies from three sides. Dry deciduous forest and grassland covers the major portion of hillock. More than 106 species of birds can be found in IIFM residing in following habitats:-
1. Grassland– Majority of the species of birds can be found in grasslands of IIFM.


2. Water bodies- More than 27 water birds can be sighted near water bodies of IIFM.


3. Decidious forest- It covers major portion of IIFM and many insectivore species can be found there.

4. Urbanized- like faculty block, admin block, hostels etc.
